Problems galore for Deiva Thirumagan

Vikram’s Deiva Thirumagan is caught in the thick of controversy with the Thevar community demanding that the title of the film be changed as it derogates their late leader Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar. It may be noted here that Muthuramalinga Thevar is called as Deiva Thirumagan by his community.
The latest to join this agitation is the Shiva Sena. Shiva Sena leader Dhiraviya Pandian met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at his residence recently and requested that the CM should interfere in this issue and ban the film if the title is not changed.
Dhiraviya Pandian said that the Thevar community people are considering Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar as their idol and demeaning him by naming the film as Deiva Thirumagan cannot be tolerated.
